DFW-Area Emergency Veterinary Clinics

What follows is a list of DFW-area emergency veterinary clinics.  It is important to note that most emergency veterinary clinics are open only during evenings, weekends and holidays.  This means that if you have an emergency during other times you will need to consider taking your pet to any closest open veterinary clinic that is set up to handle emergencies.  We recommend that you inquire with your regular vet to be sure that they can accommodate you if an emergency arises during their regular business hours.

Before an emergency arises, be sure to take the following steps:

1.  Find the emergency veterinary clinic that is closest to you and put their information into the Favorite contacts of your phone.

2.  Write down the contact information of the same clinic and place it someplace where it's easy to find in case of an emergency, such as your refrigerator and/or the glove compartment of your car.

3.  Keep all pertinent information about your pet's health, such as previous medical problems and any current medications, in a file that is easy to find.

One more important thing to know:  If an emergency happens, call the emergency vet to let them know that has happened and that you are on the way.  This gives them time to prepare for your arrival and gather any supplies that might be needed, such as anti-venom or blood.
